Urban Mobility Feasibility Study for Skardu City
Cosmic Engineering prepared a detailed feasibility study for improving Skardu’s urban
mobility, including pedestrian flow, traffic modelling, and road hierarchy planning.
Scope:
- Traffic forecasting
- Route alignment for BRT-lite
- Cost–benefit analysis
- Environmental/social screening

COSMIC Engineering Consultant (Private) Limited successfully conducted a comprehensive Urban Mobility Feasibility Study for Skardu City, aimed at improving traffic efficiency and pedestrian movement in a rapidly growing urban environment. The project involved detailed traffic forecasting, road hierarchy planning, and route alignment development for a BRT-lite system to support sustainable public transport. COSMIC also carried out a robust cost–benefit analysis along with environmental and social screening to ensure economically viable and socially responsible solutions. Delivered over a four-month period for an international NGO, the study reflects COSMIC’s ability to apply international planning standards while addressing local mobility challenges in Gilgit-Baltistan.
